In the News
Fancy's on 5th received enthusiastic coverage from Birmingham's food media community at its March 2016 opening. The restaurant — an oyster bar and burger bar at 430 41st Street South in the Avondale neighborhood — was the second venture from owners Harriet Despinakis and Paget Pizitz, who also own MELT Avondale.
The restaurant's name is a tribute to "Miss Fancy," the elephant that was the star attraction at the old Avondale Park location of the Birmingham Zoo.
